While driving home we went by part of a pasture down at the bottom of a hill and out of the corner of my eye I saw a cow reaching behind her, licking a calf. Wait a minute, that calf looks like it was just born! So, of course, we turned around to get a better look. Sure enough that little baby was still wet, and the mother,um, lets just say she showed signs of just giving birth. We sat and watched as the little guy bobbled his little head around, stuck his hind end in the air, fell back down, and finally, after a few attempts, got to his feet. The mother had already walked away by now, so he gave a little bleat and wobbled off to find her. How precious!

How precious! Glad you are so observant. I would have probably missed it!
So, does this mean you always travel with your camera?
I am a WMAC and have much to learn... ;)
One of those learning opportunities sent from God, right? Birth always amazes me. Glad you had your camera along.
Awwwwwwww!
So cool! I know I would have missed that, too. Cows don't really catch my attention. Glad you had the time to stop and watch.
I don't rightly remember how I got that lightening pic! I know that I had my camera sitting on my keyboard (in lieu of a tripod. I should just get one one of these days) with the window open. I left the shutter open for a good 15 to 20 seconds. The f stop was somewhere in the middle, but I can't remember what. That's it...I think. :)
I so would have turned the car around also...it must be the name. lol. So awesome that you had your camera with you, that would have been my only down fault. I've been missing a lot of nature shots because I haven't wanted to lug my big camera with me. I should just get over that feeling because I'm always kicking myself when I miss something amazing. Great pictures and I'm sure your kids were thrilled!
