'Bout time

...I put a new post up. I've been busy getting ready for school. So all my computer time lately has been spent searching for curriculum and making schedules. But this past week hasn't been all work. Mom offered to babysit so I could take the older kids to Genesee Valley Museum. My season pass was about to expire and I had a few guest passes so we were able to bring along some friends. We had a great afternoon. I especially enjoyed being able to talk to the workers (actors? whatever you call them) and ask them questions without a baby in tow and a toddler to chase.

We were able to take the time to participate in activities that we normally wouldn't be able to like tin punching.

And because no post is complete with out a pic of this adorable chunker munker...

Something to ponder

I took the boys outside to try to regain control of my garden.
(I lost)
but we had fun trying. We yanked out most of the weeds that had completely taken over. Jacob pulled out the wild grasses but was careful not to touch the morning glory because it's his favorite flower.

While wandering around, sniffing the flowers and pretending he was helping, he posed this question...

"Do we make Morning Glory seeds from moth wings?"

So if anybody has any insight in this, inquiring minds want to know.

Now something fun from Joe.

Playing with the Banana gram tiles. We tried to play the actual game but it was little too advanced for them, so they just made up silly sentences. That was more fun anyway.

"The cat wared (wore) undies to dance." of course.

BUT WAIT! THERE"S MORE!

Typical Gracie. This picture pretty much sums her up.

Yeah, I know, I'm pretty awesome.

These are my favorites from our photo shoot with the Webbers.

Uh, huh, I'm impressed with myself, too. ;)

Flubber

Do take the time to do this. We had a blast!

Here is the recipe
(Sorry for the grainy pics- I had to set my ISO to 1600 to make up for the lack of sun that we normally get through the kitchen window. And I just didn't feel like running them through noiseware. When you take 300 pictures a week, well, you just cant edit them all.)

Yeah, now that's just gross.

Visitor

I cant count too many times we've had a heron land in our backyard. He's pretty cool, isn't he?

A few from the pathways

Our trip today was for a photo shoot for my friend's children, so I didn't get many of my own. But I managed to snap a couple fun ones in between.

Here's my favorite...

My favorite picture, my favorite picture! Not child, of course!
A good mother never reveals her favorite...

Sorry, Tina, you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see you kids pics. They turned out great, BTW.

My boy

Oh, how everybody just adores this boy. He was taking a nap with me when I asked Courtney to grab the camera to capture his precious little sleepy face. But the clicking of the camera woke him up. And this is how he wakes up. He gives a little stretch, focuses on your face and gives you great big, goofy smile.
I don't know what I did to deserve such a content, happy baby.

Bored?

It amazes me what kids will come up with. It makes me wonder why I buy them toys. Just line up a few pop bottles. It'll keep em busy for hours. It's better than silly six pins.
I took out a bag a trash to the dumpster. And when I lifted the lid, the top bag was covered with maggots. Yuck! I slammed the lid back down, thankful it was trash day, and headed back to the house. Hmm, I wonder if the boys have ever seen maggots? This might be a good opportunity for a little science lesson.
I asked them when I got back into the house, "Hey, guys, have you ever seen maggots?"
"Yeah, sure. I've seen them." said Joe.
"No, what are they?" asked Jacob.
"Oh, you know," Joe answered, "They're the things you stick on the fridgerata."

Brotherly Love

While playing in the yard, I noticed Jacob loving playing with Joshua, stroking his face ever so gently. How sweet! Oh, the love my boys have for each other, what great... wait a minute...

Oh, I see, it wasn't an act of kindness, he was picking the grass clippings off his face from the grass fight that got out of hand before I saw what happened.
Joshua didn't seem to mind.

Now, I'm not going to get too excited yet, but...

Gracie is showing much interest in the potty. Yesterday, while giving her a bath, she starting yelling "potty!"
"Yep, that's the potty, now sit down and..."
Uh, huh. She peed in the tub. Duh, mom. She told ya she had to go. I'm just thinking she's much too young. Or maybe I'm much too lazy. At any rate, today, she told me "potty" so we rushed to the bathroom and sure enough, she went!

Now, aren't you glad I shared that with you? :)

She got her first pack of undies. Only... I don't think they go on your head. Unless I'm wearing mine wrong.

"Miwall!" In case you forgot, that means "smile"
Yeah, it's a calculator, but she thinks it's a cell phone. When I was a kid, I would pretend to take a picture and then crank my camera, not turn it around to show you the image. Oh, the technology these kids have today.

A few wedding pics

My favorites from Joy and Joe's wedding. I apologize for the poor quality - the Gym lighting is horrid. They really have to do something about that :)
And you have to see the photographer's pictures HERE. She did a great job! I was impressed with mine until I saw what she captured. Also check out Amy's view, she got a lot of great shots, too. She posted a good one of me (theres a camera in front of my face- isn't there always?)

Julia did the girls hair. She did a great job. Here is some of her handiwork.

Goofy Girls

So what do you do when it starts raining? Well, you run outside for a game of badmitton, of course!
I grabbed a plastic bag, wrapped up my camera and headed out there cause I guess I'm just as crazy (or stupid) as they are. And I got some really great pictures. But... Grace loves to look at the pictures on my camera. She can turn it on, hit the right button to display the pictures, and even browse through them. But, um, apparantly now she has also learned how to delete them. So this one is the only one I have left.

Our new niece

What a little cutie, and when I say little...
This is Lily, Kathy's (Tony's sister) new baby. Isn't she precious?

She's got some catching up to do
